Sometimes you need to just make one shopping trip. You don’t have time to go to two or three different places, just to get the best deal. Can you still be frugal? Absolutely!
I’m not a huge fan of coupon shopping at Walmart because they charge tax before they deduct your coupons. This means that if you have a coupon for a FREE Woolite All-In-One, which retails for $9.99, you still have to pay $.60 sales tax. In the long run, the tax really adds up and makes a big difference in the final amount I pay out.
However, Walmart does have some good deals – and they have a lot of selection, which makes one-trip shopping wonderful.
To make the most of your Walmart shopping trip, don’t be afraid of their price matching policy. For instance, this week at Walmart Quaker Oatmeal is $2.57. You can get Quaker Instant Oatmeal for $.99 by price matching your Walgreens ad from Sunday! Remember to bring in the ad with you when price matching.
Buy Quaker Instant Oatmeal $1.99
Use $1/1 Select Quaker Oatmeals, exp. 4-30 (RP 1/2/11)
Pay $.99
NOTE > If you have two of the $1/1 coupons from the RP 1/2/11 insert, you can get Quaker Oatmeal for $.50/box next week at RiteAid.
