I was so excited about the deals I got at Weis this week, that I just had to share how I used them to make a really fantastic and really cheap dinner last night.
- I cooked the Ronzoni Garden Delight, which I got for only $.25 because of a $1.00 off coupon I saved from the smart source machine in the store back in November.
- When there was only about 2 minutes of cook time left, I added some frozen zucchini and summer squash from my garden this past summer.
- While that was draining in the sink, I put a pan on the same burner (saving electricity) with the Perdue GRILLED chicken short cuts I got for FREE after the mail-in-rebate and $.75 coupon in this Sunday’s paper (smart source insert).
- I mixed the pasta and veggies with some lemon juice, parsley and parmesan cheese, combined it with the chicken and a little pepper, and yum-o!
Not only did my husband and I love it, but so did my son! We had sliced oranges for dessert which were also FREE from a tree we picked while in Florida.
All in all, this meal cost us less than $.50, with all the seasonings, and if you consider the postage stamp I used to mail the rebate form.
Plus, there was leftovers for our lunch today!
