If you don’t or can’t use coupons, you can still cut your grocery budget drastically, by buying multiples of the things you use when they are on sale.
A friend of mine has kids who LOVE Cheerios and won’t eat the generic kind. They probably go through several boxes a week! If you have a full-time job, and only stop at one store to do your grocery shopping, here’s what I recommend:
Watch for Cheerios to go on sale. Instead of buying them for $3.99 a box, buy them when they are on sale for $1.99 and buy enough to last your family a month (cereal has a nice long shelf life, so you can do this)! You will be saving about $2.00 a box, and just cut your cereal grocery bill in half. Amazing!
In order to have enough money on hand do this you may need to start smaller – and just stock up on enough cereal for a week or two. Since you will be spending more out of pocket in one week than the next two or three.
You can use this same principle with almost everything you shop for, including pasta, tomato sauce, dish soap, tissues, toilet paper, etc.
