Do you know about Appliance Recycling?
- Get paid $50 for recycling a refrigerator or freezer during November and December 2012.
- Or choose to support the Boy Scouts of America by donating your incentive. Learn more.
- 95 percent of the materials from the appliances will be recycled.
- If you buy a new refrigerator from Best Buy or Sears, you can get a $25 rebate from PPL Electric Utilities for the new fridge AND a $50 incentive check for recycling your old refrigerator. That’s $75 in rebates for upgrading your appliance.
- If you have inefficient, working window air conditioners, we will have those picked up at the same time as your refrigerator or freezer and give you an additional $25 per unit. Limit four per household per calendar year.
The refrigerator or freezer must be in working condition and be between 10 and 30 cubic feet in size. You must own the unit and be a PPL Electric Utilities customer. Limit two units per address per calendar year. An incentive check will be mailed to you after the appliance is collected. When purchasing a new refrigerator, Best Buy or Sears will make arrangements for delivery and pickup. Call 1-877-270-3522 or see an in-store sales representative.
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE HOLIDAY SPECIAL $50 OFFER – ENROLL BY DECEMBER 24.
See the Requirements for Program Participation for more information.
**Bonus: If you have a working window air conditioner, we will pick that up at the same time as we are picking up your refrigerator/freezer.* There is a limit of four(4) air conditioners per calendar year.

Thanks for posting this! Maybe this will be the incentive we need to get rid of our ancient (and I mean ancient!) fridge. 🙂
