You may have seen me in this local Walmart commercial this week, and wondered why is she shopping at Walmart?
Here’s the deal. We all live on a different budget, a different salary, and with different dietary needs. Each of us, and each family unit is unique. Frugal for me, is different than frugal for you. But we’re all in the same ballpark – all trying to save money wherever and whenever we can – whether you live on a $30/week grocery budget, or a $150/week.
Many of us don’t have time to go through the weekly ads, clip coupons or go to multiple grocery stores to get all the best deals. Many of us don’t even have time to sit down and read the coupon deal blogs out there! We are busy moms, dads, and families, living our lives to the fullest and to keep things simple and sane, we need to shop in just one shopping trip.
To maintain our frugality and our good financial stewardship, its important to make wise decisions in what we buy and where we shop. Buying groceries at Walmart is one option for busy families, to get all their shopping done at one place. Walmart prices do not fluctuate as much as grocery stores, especially for name brand, everyday, quick meal products. If that is what you are buying regularly for your family – Walmart could be the best shopping choice for you.
If you have a little more time one week to prepare, Walmart policy does allow you to bring in competitor ads and price match, which is excellent for things that supermarkets sometimes do have the better price on like produce sales or special weekly sales such as $1 organic toddler food pouches pricematched from Babies R Us or even diaper deals pricematched from Kmart.
If you’re thinking Walmart isn’t for you because you buy healthier products, I’d challenge you to consider them as well. They have a growing organic food section and sell many items like whole wheat flour, coconut oil, quinoa, and organic baby foods.
I’m not suggesting that Walmart grocery shopping is for everyone, but I am suggesting that it is worth considering in order to save money. What do you have to lose other than to shop at Walmart one week and see for yourself?!
