On Christmas last year our family stayed home and we had the day to ourselves. I saw someone share this quick video tutorial on facebook and I was mesmerized. I decided I was going to push ahead on my effort to try new things and just do it!
I would say you wouldn’t believe me on how simple this craft was, but if you watch the video below you will see just how simple it is.
What you need:
- lunch size paper bags (white or brown depending on your preference)
- gluestick or hot glue gun
- scissors
Three simple steps:
Time needed: 15 minutes
This craft is so simple and easy enough for kids or adults to make. There are really only three simple steps for creating your own DIY Christmas Paper Bag Star craft.
- Glue each paper bag together.
Lay the 6-7 paper bags one on top of the other, and glue in a T-shape pattern down the middle of the bag and across the bottom of the bag. Lay each paper bag on top of the next one before gluing.
- Cut the stack of paper bags.
After the bags are glued together, cut a V shape at the opening to form a pointed triangle on the top.
- Glue the last and first paper bag together.
Spread the cut paper bags apart, so the star is revealed. Finish by gluing the first and last bags together.
I searched through my recycled craft area and managed to find some paper bags. I kind of like the raw paper bag look but you could easily use white paper bags or spray paint the star silver for a neat affect. Next, we want to save a bunch of the really big grocery store paper bags and see what a HUGE star would look like! 😳
