April Fools Day is always a big event in our family—especially my husband’s side of the family! I was never into pranks as much as he was (at least on April Fool’s Day), but I’ve grown more accustomed to the idea and how much fun it can be. I couldn’t believe how many cute and practical kid-friendly April Fools Day Tricks I found on Pinterest!
If you want to trick your child in a fun and loving way this April Fools Day, you won’t want to miss the list below. You can also find all of them on my April Fool’s Day Pinterest Board.
Peek-A-Boo Cup
I love this idea to start off April Fool’s Day and make breakfast silly!
And then get them with these fake eggs for breakfast too! In this example they used a peach halve, but I think an apricot halve would be even better!
Eyes on Their Lunch
I am just in love with these googly eyes and the fun places you can put them. So creative!
Get them while they are sleeping!
This is pretty sneaky! I think I might just have to do this one. 🙂
More Googly Eyes!
This idea is from Whole Foods Market. You really can put Googly Eyes anywhere and I think a kid will find it hilarious.
Bugs on their lunch.
A cheap place to find little critters like these is the Dollar Tree! Thanks Top Inspired for this idea!
Cockroach Silhouette
Or you don’t even have to go to the Dollar Tree to find your bugs, just do what this mom did and print a cockroach silhouette on transparent paper!
Here is another cockroach idea – good to do if you don’t have any transparent paper to print on!
Wrap Grapes Like Easter Eggs
Don’t you think this idea found on Love Wednesday is absolutley ingenious?!
Freeze Cereal
Make breakfast really confusing by freezing your child’s cereal!
Toilet Seat Picture
I’m pretty sure this is one of my favorites. I’m not sure what picture I’ll put there, but I think this would be hilarious for the kids to find as the day goes on. I’m sure they won’t see all of these right away!
Jello Juice
Trick your child with this undrinkable jello juice.
Jelly Bean Ice Machine
This jelly bean ice machine idea is pretty original and creative!
Shrink Wrap to the Bed
If your kids are a little older, this could be a neat idea. I’d be pretty shocked if I woke up like this!
Donut Apple Slices
I’m one of those moms that avoids sugar and sprinkles as much as possible—but I might make an exception for these fake donut apple slices!
How Your Kids Can Get Dad
Unfortunately this year April Fool’s Day is on a Saturday so dad won’t be driving to work, but this is a creative option for the kids to get dad without him knowing it!
Meatloaf Cupcakes
When my husband and I were newlyweds, we got our small group one year by signing up for the snack and bringing fake cupcakes. They looked like really cupcakes, but they were actually meatloaf with mashed potatoes on top. I’ll never forget the face of the one guy who was completely shocked when he bit into it!
Brown E’s
Our neighbor girl pulled this one on us last year and this year my five-year-old has completely latched on to it and is so excited about doing it. The funny thing is she keeps telling everyone what she is going to do, so I’m not sure that anyone is actually going to be pranked on April Fool’s Day!
