Folks, I have something EXTRA special to share with you today. Something to help you as a parent, but also something to help families in South Africa too!
Many of you know that I have been working with Bonni Greiner from Mom By Example on a few projects. It was about this time last year that we introduced a new book together, There’s An Easier Way: 21 Ways to Lovingly Raise Your Children Without Regrets.
Well, you may have noticed that I have been a little quiet on my blog the past few weeks. I’ve had so many great blogging ideas I’ve been wanting to share with you (look for them soon by the way, they are still coming), but I’ve had to set them aside because of this super-big and super-awesome project that Bonni and I have been working ridiculously hard on.
So, just what have we been up to?
If you follow Bonni’s Facebook LIVE videos, you’ve probably heard her mention it. And a few of you may have even been some of the first to buy it. 🙂
We’ve put together a Godly Character Traits Guide: A Training Guide for Families. The guide is a compilation of notes that Bonni has used over the years as she has raised her eight children and as she has strived to instill godly character traits in them.
The Godly Character Traits Guide is meant to be a resource to help moms instill godly character traits in their children in just 5-10 minutes a day. Using the guide will help your child learn what God is like and how they can exhibit godly character traits.
Here’s a sneak peak inside the Guide
- Definition List of the fifteen godly character traits.
- 15 Godly Character Trait Pages (including definition, opposite, ways to live it out and role model it, and verses to memorize)
- Personal notes and application tips from Bonni.
- BONUS: Coloring pages for each trait that your kids can color while you introduce each trait to them!
A resource like this, that has been being written, compiled and effectively used in Bonni’s home for decades, should cost quite a bit of money, but we’re making it available for the next two weeks for just $15 (or $7.95 if you just want the electronic version). Just in time for the perfect Mother’s Day gift!
Can you believe it? I can’t either! Seriously, it should cost this much just to produce this full-color, spiral-bound book!
But there is more, the best part of what I have to share with you is yet to come! ALL proceeds from the book are going to help moms in South Africa. You may remember me sharing about that trip I took last fall with Crystal Paine from Money Saving Mom!
Here’s a sneak peak at some South Africa families
I really want to take a minute to share just a little bit more about what these proceeds will be helping with in South Africa, and why it is near and dear to my heart. To do that, let me ask you a question.
Can you imagine life without water?
Can you imagine what it would be like to take care of your home, wash dishes, do laundry and make meals — all WITHOUT water?
In South Africa, water distribution is very inconsistent. The water municipalities choose when to turn on and off the water for the communities. The Maubane community has over 15,000 residents, yet when we visited this community last September, water had been turned off for ALMOST THREE MONTHS! In fact, it took another three weeks after we came home before their water was turned on!
The biggest need in South Africa right now, as you’ve probably already discerned in light of the above example, is JoJo water tanks. By installing a JoJo water tank, communities can store up water when the municipalities turn it on and then ration it during the periods of time when the water is turned off.
Currently, five of the Take Action centers DO NOT HAVE JoJo tanks. And without water, they can’t cook the porridge being donated to them—thus no food to feed these cute kids!
To put up a medium sized tank with a raised stand, and install it with the required plumbing, will cost around $1600 per tank.
Will you help us get water to these communities? If we can raise just $4000 we’ll get half of these communities the tanks they really need.
[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]ALL proceeds for the Godly Character Traits Guide will go toward building JoJo water tanks at community centers in South Africa. Let’s see how many tanks we can build![/perfectpullquote]
And not only is this helping South Africa, but every guide purchased will help your home to thrive, as you see the hearts of your kids open up to learning what God is like and as you see their lives change as they begin to exhibit godly character traits.
A Special Incentive
As a special incentive—we’re forming a private Facebook group to which all book buyers will be invited to join. As part of this group, you will get access to:
- LIVE videos from Bonni as she journeys through eight of the fifteen character traits with you, personally training you on how to use the guide and be successful at instilling these godly character traits in your children.
- Advice and feedback directly from Bonni as she answers your questions and struggles as you introduce a new character trait each week.
- Bonni’s tips and secrets that she will not be sharing anywhere else.
- Weekly videos from Bonni as she shares how these character traits changed her life and the lives of her children.
- A community of moms supporting each other and sharing ideas on how they are memorizing verses and implementing object lessons in their homes.
The private Facebook group will run from the middle of June to the middle of August. Save your spot in the group by buying your guide now!
We’ve also created a FREE download for you! This cheat sheet is a great place for you to take notes as you instill godly character traits in your children AND it shows you the eight traits that we will be going over together this summer.
If you’re not yet convinced at how this resource will help you and your family, I urge you to take just a few minutes to watch this video that we made just for you!
And if you’re still not convinced, we’ve made an entire website devoted to the book even giving you a glimpse at several of the pages inside the book.
One thing I’ve learned through this motherhood journey, is that we can’t do it alone. And when we do motherhood with others, everything seems to be just a little bit easier.
So we have one last tip for you. Grab some other moms to go through this guide and the private Facebook group this summer with you! Invite your friends to make a difference in their families and in South Africa too!
Let’s do this!
