A number of my readers have contacted me asking about the Willow Creek Discount Grocery in Rheinholds. Its a little farther away from most Frugal Lancaster readers, so I understand why you want me to check it out before you make the trip.
I had a lot of fun going through the store and taking pictures of what I found. Its also right near Boehringer’s Drive-In, one of my top creek play location ideas.
So if you’re headed out on a hot day, grab this deal before you go and save half-off $20 worth of groceries, household supplies or other items.
As you enter the store, if you turn left you’ll find their household cleaning supplies and miscellaneous section. I particularly noted the brooms (ours is super old and needs replaced), the camping chairs (only $15, so if you use the half-off deal its more like $7.50), and the cat food (I feel like I’m always buying cat food so I love to save on it when I can!)
The produce section was quite extensive with apples, pears, blueberries, strawberries, veggies, peaches, bananas and tons more. There is also a cold-room with even more fresh produce.
You’ll find bulk foods, and various dry goods included real maple syrup (something I always like to buy discounted when I can, so I loved having this half-off deal with me!)
In the freezer section I found Gene Wenger’s hamloaf, frozen pizzas, chicken nuggets, ice cream, soft pretzels and more. All at similar prices to any other local discount grocery store.
Towards the back of the store there is a small area of reduced items. This is a good area to check if you like to buy snacks for your kids, like Pop Tarts (they were 5/$1) or granola bars.
In summary, I think you’ll easily make this grocery shopping trip worth it if you’ll be in the area and want to check it out. It wasn’t hard for me to find $20 worth of items to put in my cart. Oh, and there are diapers too, if you’re in that stage of life.
Buy your $20 deal for just $10 before there aren’t any deals left.
