Are you looking for some outdoor family-fun in Lancaster County this fall? Our family visited Country Barn’s Barnyard Kingdom on S. Donerville Road, Lancaster this weekend and had a blast!
This real working farm has dedicated 10 acres to down home fun on the farm!
- Venture through a giant 5-acre Corn Maze—”Bee A-Maze-D!”
- Go “hog wild” cheering for your favorite swine at our pig races – the 1st pig show in Lancaster County!
- Tour the working farm on a wagon ride.
- Visit the farm animals—sheep, goats, chickens, ponies, bunnies and more!
- Bounce on the giant jump pad and fly down the giant tunnel slide or combine slide.
- Take the little ones for a trip around the Barnyard on the mini-wagon ride.
- Race friends & family around the Pedal Kart track.
- Bring a flashlight for night time mazes (starting in September).
When we first arrived all I saw was the see saw (which my kids loved immediately and spent at least 20 minutes on before I said we should move on), and the big tricycle track next to the combine slide. I thought maybe that was it, but I was definitely wrong.
As we turned the corner, we saw that we’d be there for several hours for sure! First it was time for the pig races, which we were super excited not to miss! I don’t know why a pig race is so much fun but it is!
After the pig race we slid down this huge slide that literally goes through a little hill! I even went down and joined in the fun!
We also enjoyed the kart races, jump pad, and of course the potato sling shot, not to mention the huge tires to climb on and wooden tractor play area.
I do want to note that the pedal karts are kind of difficult for younger kids. Even my nine-year old struggled with it and riding it up the hill on the track. I think it would be perfect for a youth group or teenagers to enjoy though! (And it did work for my kids to try it, I just had to push them a few times.)
One thing I will say, is that you definitely need to try their fries from their snack barn. Its the perfect fall treat to warm up before you enjoy some more of the farm fun again!
