I love it when friends ask me questions that inspire a post idea! This holiday season a friend asked me about experience gift ideas for a six year old girl. I had a lot of fun brainstorming and coming up with ideas for this mom, so I thought I’d share what I found with you too!
As always these are just brainstorms and ideas—please use them in discretion for your child and their preferences.
1. Great Wolf Lodge Getaway
There is an amazing deal on Groupon right now, if you book your stay between November and February. Deal includes water park passes for each registered guest, and there is a FREE cancellation policy (up to nine days before check-in).

2. Gymnastics Lessons
These deals are sold out now, sorry! 🙁
Fusion Gymnastics in Lititz offers discounted lessons on Local Flavor. They also offer a Saturday Kids Night pass where they can have fun on the gymnastics equipment at a very discounted price. Other gyms in the area to consider include Positive Fitness and Prestige Gymnastics.
3. Aquarium Visit
If the young girl in your life loves animals or the ocean, consider Adventure Aquarium in Camden (this aquarium is known for its exceptional hands-on experiences!), or visiting the National Aquarium on Dollar Days in Baltimore, when admission is just $1!
4. Day of fun games, play and arcade!
Have you heard of the Work in Wyomissing? They have an amazing play/game/arcade area. I wrote about our experience at The Works and showed pictures of all the fun we had. The Works also has kart races and an indoor trampoline park, both of which have discounted passes available! It’d be fun to spend an entire day there and this post covers all the deals to save you money!
Ozzy’s Family Fun Center is another great place to spend a day of indoor fun including unlimited sky trail, rock climbing, roller skating, Lasertron and play zone time. They are offering a half-off deal to get $50 worth of games for just $25!
Laser Tag is another fun option. Here are our favorite places for laser tag in Lancaster County.
- The Lazer Factory – We like this place because its small and simple. There is a great laser tag room and then a small arcade and bounce area for little ones. The deal is a great money-saver but they also (or at least they used to) offer half off games on Wednesday nights.
- Laserdome – Probably the most popular in Lancaster County. If you plan to visit, the best deal is to grab this all day pass for just $24.99.
Virtual Reality Gaming is another fun and popular idea. This futuristic experience is extremely fun and entertaining. Here are a few local options >>
- Switch VR at Rockvale. Get a one hour session for half price, just $25.
- Lancaster VR Lounge. $29 for 1 hour of virtual play time for 2 people.
- Switch VR at Rockvale. $20 for 60 minutes of virtual reality play.
5. Pottery Painting
If she likes art and pottery, consider taking her to Jen’s Pottery Den. I just took my daughter and she LOVED it! Save $10 on your purchase of online, to-go or in-store projects at Jen’s Pottery!!

6. Take her to a show, musical or orchestra.
Local theaters to consider:
- Sight & Sound
- American Music Theater
- Fulton Theater
- Dutch Apple Theater
- The Trust Performing Arts Center
7. Diggerland
Just kidding!!!! Ok, well you never know—there are definitely some girls who would LOVE this.
Our daughter loved it, but it was a whole family trip with her brothers. I’m not certain that she’d pick it to go to just on her own—however they are opening a new water park in 2020, combined with your Diggerland admission ticket, so there will be even more options! You can find discounted tickets currently available, too!
8. Crayola Experience
For girls who love arts, crafts, color, and anything design related The Crayola Experience is fun for kids ages 3-10 (other ages would enjoy it too!)
9. Kiwi Doodle Crate
One of our favorite experience gift ideas is KiwiCrate—have you heard about these? I shared our completely honest review of it last year, and have mentioned them several times on Instagram. Basically it is a themed box for kids of all ages that they receive monthly.
You can choose from a Doodle Crate (art based), Tinker Crate (for your STEM child), Kiwi Crate (for young school age children), an Atlas box (for your geography lover) or there’s even ones for your youngest kiddos too!
>> Get 50% off your first crate! <<
- Panda (Ages 0-2)
- Koala (Ages 2-4)
- Kiwi (Ages 5-8)
- Atlas (Ages 6-11)
- Doodle (Ages 9-16+)
- Tinker (Ages 9-16+)
- Maker (Ages 14-104)
- Eureka (Ages 14-104)
10. Annie’s Creative Girls Club
Annie’s Creative Girl’s Club. This is another favorite of ours, and you can get started receiving a kit for just $3.98 (plus shipping) – making your first kit just $9.93. Use the code SHARE80 at checkout.
Girl’s receive a really cute craft (or two) each month. They are often very practical things that girls will want to use for decor in their room or put on display!
Some great sites to check for discounted experience ideas are Groupon, AvidDeals, Local Flavor, and Goldstar. You can find theater tickets, Christmas shows, zipline adventures, zoo and museum passes, ski or snowtubing experiences and more!
