That Fish Place That Pet Place – That Pet Show

Stop by That Pet Show 12pm to 1pm to learn about, feel and touch amazing reptiles, amphibians, small pets and more!
Topics include diet, shedding, habitat, thermoregulation, endangered animals, animal communication, adaptation, and more!
Each free show is hosted by That Fish Place – That Pet Place’s own Stacy Davis. Stacy has worked for the company for over 20 years and is an expert on pets. She also ran the Traveling Pet Show for over 17 years and loved to speak with kids and families about animals.
Come learn about, pet and meet: Snakes, Lizards, Carlos our Black and White Tegu, Arachnids, Turtles and tortoises, Small mammals, Hermit crabs, Amphibians, Leopard Geckos
Lancaster County Bird Club – Christmas Bird Count for Kids
December 29 from 9:00am – 1:00pm

Lancaster County Bird Club (LCBC) and the Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation co-sponsor a Christmas Bird Count for all ages. This activity gets children and adults outdoors during the Christmas holidays, and includes a worthwhile “citizen scientist” event.
This abbreviated event teaches the adventure of bird identification in the wintertime. Volunteers from LCBC will teach participants how to use binoculars; loaners will be available if needed. LCBC members will lead participants on a 90-minute walk in Central Park to identify as many species as possible. Results at the end of the walk will be recorded on eBird. Register online or call (717) 295-2055 to register by noon on Thursday December 27. This is a FREE cooperative program with the Lancaster County Bird Club.
Lancaster County Central Park – Animals in Winter
January 4 or January 5 from 10am – 11:30am
Cost: $2.00 per person
Join Naturalist Lisa J. Sanchez for an exploration into the activities of wild animals during the winter season. Some of our local wildlife migrate away from this area and many others do interesting things to survive this time of year. This program will begin inside and continue outside. Lancaster County Central Park – Story, Craft & Critter: Snakes
January 6 from 10am – 11:30am
Cost: $3.00 per child $1.00 per adult
Learn about snakes through an interactive story, then make a craft or two celebrating snakes. Meet some live snakes, too, with Naturalist Kelsey Frey. Children must have an adult helper. Oregon Dairy – Jack Hubley’s Live Birds of Prey Show at Oregon Dairy
January 12 from 10:30am – 2:30pm
Cost: $3 per person Children 2 and under FREE
Featuring a variety of owls and hawks and winged predators. An educational show with fun, laughter and learning. 2 Shows: 10:30am & 1:30pm. Shows will take place in the Warehouse Theater at Oregon Dairy. Free Popcorn, Hot Chocolate & Coffee!
