Last year Frugal Lancaster tried something new with the hope of supporting and connecting all you homeschoolers out there! We collected and published a monthly list of all the programs and classes we thought homeschoolers would be interested in attending. This monthly list was warmly accepted and after a short break over the summer, we are excited to announce that we will be doing this again!
Each month we will collect and publish a list of all the local classes and events in the community geared towards educating homeschoolers, but we hope to add a twist as we roll this out again, and that twist is YOU! If you are a homeschooler or an organization that would like to support homeschoolers and there is a class or event you think would interest folks in the homeschool community, would you help us collect that information in our list by emailing these opportunities to our Homeschool Field Trip guru, Sara Lichtenwalner, who will be joining our team at Frugal Lancaster and heading up this new venture?
We know that homeschooling, though rewarding, is exhausting, and we are passionate about providing a system of support for parents who are in this endeavor. We always appreciate any feedback or ways that we can better support you. Many blessings in your homeschool journey!
I have always loved the fall, the changing leaves and weather, the apples, hiking and camping and all the fun outdoor things to do without bugs and heat!!!
This fall in our homeschool curriculum we have been studying Medieval Times, one of my most favorite parts of history. I mean, who doesn’t love to hear about castles and knights and the adventures of Robin Hood!
We recently attended a homeschool event at Glen Carin Museum, located right outside of Philadelphia were we saw stained glass and other art actually made during the Middle Ages. It was a great event, and I hope that the featured events listed this week bring a sense of wonder and excitement and learning for your homeschool family!

This list is a compilation of homeschool field trips, events, classes and activities for children of all ages. Most classes and events are located in Lancaster County but we do include some things that are close to or within the surrounding Central PA region. Listings are organized in six different categories including history, science, literature, art, music and other.
To make accessing the events and information easier, we have made a Google Spreadsheet that you can access and view. We will be updating this list regularly, so please bookmark this page and check back for newly added events.
TIP >> You can use the DATA > SORT menu to sort everything by date, if you want to see whats happening on a particular day. It will make a temporary view for just you, so don’t worry about sorting it for whatever you need—age, day, category, location—you won’t mess it up for others.
