Being 37 years old, it puts me kind of on the edge of being a millennial. Sometimes I wish I was more in the millennial stage because all you millennials are SO GOOD at keeping up with all this new technology!
I recently found something called DoorDash and I feel like I’m really out of the loop!
You see, many local restaurants are starting to use something called DoorDash—where you order food and either pick it up or have it delivered. They’re offering a really great deal right now. If you sign up now you’ll get FREE delivery for a month, plus $5 off your first 4 orders.
Let me tell you what I love about DoorDash so far.
You can order from so many local restaurants. You have more options if you order delivery, but you have FREE delivery for the first thirty days anyway.
- There are tons of restaurant options for pizza places, Chinese and Asian food, fast food places like TacoBell and McDonalds, Golden Triangle, Aromas Del Sur, and more!
- Another thing I really like is that you can see where your driver is. There’s a map that shows you exactly how close they are to picking your order up and how close they are to you, dropping your order off. The app also texts you regularly with updates on where your driver is with your order.
- One more thing I love is that you can add addresses. I can use my home address, or I can change it if I’m at my mom’s or a friend’s house watching the football game, or at the sports field waiting for a double-hitter game to end (like a reader said they used it for—what a fantastic idea!)
- I love that this also makes it easy to send friends or family a meal, even ones that might live out of state! How much fun is it to pick out a meal for someone else?
Now, let’s be real. How often do I really order delivery?
Well, not that often, because it’s a lot cheaper to make meals at home. But this is a great deal—FREE delivery for 30 days, plus $5 off my first four orders—and this is a busy time of year for us. We have a lot going on. So I figured I might plan ahead, pick four meals to bless myself and relieve a little bit of the stress from meal time.
So what restaurants are included?
In the Ephrata area, where I live, you’ll see Two Cousins Pizza, La Borimex, Appleebees, Taco Bell, China Taste, Golden Triangle, Aromas Del Sur, Jade House, Subway, Five Guys, McDonalds, and more.
If you live closer to the city, you’ll see a lot more options including Chipotle, The Sandwich Factory, Panera Bread, Wild Wings, Noodles & Company, TGI Fridays, Isaac’s, PFChangs, Moes Southwest Grill, Chili’s . . . and so many more!
The Cons
I’ve noticed that New Holland and Elizabethtown areas do not have very many delivery options at all, unfortunately. I’m sure there are some other Lancaster County areas also, but hopefully they’ll pick up more and more restaurants soon. When I notice they do, I’ll let you know!
>> Get $5 off your first four orders here! <<
You do have to be a new customer to get the $5 off. But even if you don’t want to use the app right away, you can still sign up and wait til later to start using your credits. December could be another busy month for many—or the winter when you just don’t want to go outside. 😉 As far as I know, there isn’t an expiration.
You’re welcome! 🙂
