It was COLD outside but we checked out Christmas on the Mountain tonight!! If you haven’t heard of it, Christmas on the Mountain is a FREE to enter Christmas lights display operated by the Reading High School Marine Corps JRTOC.
This is an incredible light show in Reading set on a playground and baseball diamond. I absolutely love how they cover the playground equipment in a beautiful display of lights.
All Children meet Santa at no cost. For a $5.00 Donation you will receive a photo and unlimited pictures with your device.
The baseball field is also set to lights, so that you enjoy a walk thru light show as you walk across the field. They have the path nicely wrapped in plastic so it’s not muddy or messy.
There are dozens of inflatable characters that kids will love seeing and getting their photo with including Olaf, Elsa, Captain America, Tow Mater, and many more!
The kids were very excited to see a FREE snow globe bounce at the end of the field. They bounced for about 5 minutes, and when we were there was no line! Check out my Instagram stories to see video.
You can visit this light show any evening from 5-9pm or Friday and Saturday evenings from 5-10pm.
Christmas on the Mountain is located at 459 N 14th St, Reading, Pennsylvania 19604. It’s FREE to enter and FREE to park, although finding parking can be difficult. If you drive around for a little you usually find a spot though. We got lucky this year and found a very close parking place.
Donations are accepted to help support the Reading’s Christmas on the Mountain light show. You’ll find donation boxes throughout the show. Food is also available for purchase, including pizza, hot dogs, hot chocolate, large Christmas cookies and more. Most items are $2 each.
Other Light Shows in the Reading Area
This light show is very close to the Pagoda. There are also several light shows we recommend checking out on your way back home to Lancaster County, including Twas the Lights Before Christmas—a park and watch light show put to music at a local church in Sinking Springs.
