In 2016, the Hershey Lodge opened this new indoor water park in Hershey, Pennsylvania. While our kids have never visited the waterpark, my husband and I took some photos of the water park when we stayed there a few months ago. It is a smaller indoor water park for sure, but it would certainly be a great place for kids of all ages to hang out for a day.
You must be an overnight guest in order to use the water park, but you might be able to find a room for as cheap as $100, depending on the time of year.
The Water Works Indoor Waterpark
It may seem small when you first enter the Water Works facility, but I think you will be surprised with how many fun things they packed in! There are plenty of options for toddlers, from the climbing trees, to the water tables, to the splash pad areas.
Elementary age kids and older will love the pool, basketball and volleyball, riding the dolphins and getting soaked under the umbrella towers.
And I love the creativity behind the names of some more of their attractions like the Reese’s Water Walk, and the Twizzler Twists (water slides).
I’m a huge fan of the whirpool, conveniently located in a place where you as a parent can relax while still being able to see all the fun play areas while your kids play.
There are towels and life jackets available for use, which is super handy with your kiddos.
The Cocoa Cabana offers food and beverages so you don’t need to leave the waterpark to eat. Plus, if you sign up for the Kids Play, Splash and Eat Package, your kids will get a FREE kids meal!!
Game Room, Arcade and more!
Sometimes kids needs some space, or time away from the water for a little, and Water Works provides an opportunity for just that. There is an arcade (again you’ll get credit to here if you purchase the special package mentioned below), but what I found even cooler was the FREE activity area filled with board games, legos, and even a TV.
Plus if you stay during the warmer months, you can enjoy this outdoor splash pad and lounge chair seating area.
As an adult, you would also have access to the exercise room, which is located in the same hallway as the activity room and arcade, within viewing distance of the waterpark!
I think you have to stay with your kids while they are at the waterpark, but if you have older teens they might like to use this space, or if you come with your spouse or a grandparent you can take turns switching for kid duty. 🙂

During the winter season, the Hershey Lodge also offers a special Kids Play, Splash and Eat FREE Package that includes overnight stay for your entire family for as little as $155, plus these extras:
- FREE kids’ meal for kids 17 and younger*

I had to search for awhile—many different dates—but I eventually found a Sunday night stay with this kids play package in March that was only $155. Monday and Tuesday night stays in May also seemed to have some of the best prices around $185. Other dates were registering at $255 per night and some dates were not available for the package deal at all.
If you want to save even more money, and aren’t interested in the package above, you can use their calendar reservation search to quickly see how much it costs for one night stay. At a quick glance, I saw several dates in January and February that were only $129. For a family of 5, that’s like paying $25 per person, and remember you’ll also get FREE admission to the Hershey Story Museum and Butterfly Garden!
