This landmark is a hidden hiking gem in the middle of Lancaster County that I didn’t know about until a few months ago. We were driving south on Route 501 and needed to kill some time. I don’t remember how it happened, but we ended up finding Landis Woods and decided to stop by and check it out.
It was amazing!!
There are three different trails, all different lengths and difficulty levels. You can hike at your leisure, loop between the trails, and it’s easy to navigate. Very family-friendly.
We loved that the trails were very clearly marked. Some trails were more flat and others were more intense. We felt it was a good and safe mix for families with kids of all ages.
On our hike, in June, we enjoyed finding beautiful flowers, honeysuckle, animal tracks, berries and more. Here are some photos of our hike and what we enjoyed the most. I highly recommend checking it out!
On the premises you’ll also find the Boettcher House Museum, as well as many informative plaques throughout the trails that help you learn about the birds of Landis Woods, stream life and more.
Do you have a favorite trail at Landis Woods? Or maybe a favorite family story or excursion to this landmark. If so, I’d love to hear about it!!!
Landis Woods is located at 2369 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601. You can learn more about this park at the Manheim Township website.
