We spent the evening with my husbands family enjoying the Christmas lights at Refreshing Mountain last weekend. We decided to purchase the Adventure 3 package for $7 per person which gave us access to the observation deck and wildlife center.
I wasn’t really sure what the observation deck would be, but it did not disappoint. Everything at Refreshing Mountain is always so beautifully done and this unique birds eye view of it all was certainly impressive.
I was most excited for the wildlife center because the cousins (ages 6-12) all love wild animals and reptiles—there is something special about petting turtles and snakes, hearing a rattle snake and looking eye to eye with reticulated pythons and alligators, not to mention a great horned owl!

To finish the evening off we challenged ourselves to an escape room. I was incredibly impressed with how family-friendly it was, and exciting for all ages from 6 years old to Grandpa! I don’t think any of us will soon forget the team building skills we learned as we discovered each clue.
This particular escape room was especially unique to our family as we chose the patent escape room especially because Grandpa earned over 63 patents in his engineering career! I know the grandkids will always link this memory to their grandpa’s accomplishments, and leaving that legacy for them to remember is just so meaningful.
I had heard about the escape rooms at Refreshing Mountain almost two years ago when they first came out but had never made it to one until now.
